Silence is support

Silence is no longer complicity. Silence is support.

If you are receiving this email and you are a constituent of a Republican federal office-holder, you have power that I do not have. I am not complaining about that, I am asking you to be my voice.

Contact that official and say something to the effect of: “You can stop this. Federal agents are killing people in the streets for exercising their right to protest. Stop this. If you don’t, you are supporting the lawless public execution of citizens for exercising their constitutional rights. Your silence for one more day is support for this violence.”

You can’t arrest a two year old and put her on a plane to Texas and tell me this is about law enforcement.

We are funding this. The money of ours that could be reducing your health care costs, or fixing your roads and schools, or taking care of our National Parks, or studying the deadly diseases that stalk us, is being used to murder people for airing grievances against the government.

Alex was an ICU nurse. I am an ICU nurse. He was working at the VA, which means he was deliberately accepting less money doing more work because he wanted to care for US veterans. I’ve never been a good enough citizen to do that. Alex was doing work I should have been doing. Now his patients and colleagues have been robbed of him by thugs we are enriching for killing our neighbors. That money is why your health care premiums are higher while your coverage continues to suck and suck and suck.

Alex was carrying a concealed weapon for self-defense. That strategy failed him. Take a lesson.

Be my voice, please. It just takes a second to fill out one of the those online forms to send a message to your federal representatives. It takes just a bit more time to make a call.

Please, contact your Republican office-holders.

I could be next. I’m not armed.
